Pros: Small, sleek, able to carry it around with you. easy controls. Has a light at the top that gages the volume in the room (because you can’t see the video if unplugged) Cons: The video camera does not stay on when unplugged so you have to push the video button every time you want to see the baby, probably due to power issues. Also, the clip portion of the video monitor is so incredibly flimsy. It does not stay on, so if you plan on putting it on your belt loop; forget about it. But the stand works good. Overall, the monitor was a good buy for me. It does what it is suppose to. I have been using it for about a month so far and it is really nice not having to risk waking my baby up to check on him. I would recommend this to a friend. Read more...

I didn’t buy my monitor thru Amazon, but thought my review of the product would help others.
I’ve been a big fan of Summer Infant’s video monitors since my 1st son was born over 4 years ago. A couple of years ago, I submitted a comment to Summer asking for a monitor that could pick up more than two video feeds… well, it looks like submitting comments actually pays off! The Sleek and Secure monitors that I just received (from a different vender# are great! They aren’t perfect #night vision could still be a little better – it’s a little grainy and a little washed out, and the sound is not true – it’s digital and I’m used to the older Summer monitors#, but I must say I love the fact it can see up to 4 video feeds, is smaller and lighter than the older monitors, and has the intercom button, so I can tell my 4 year old to get back into bed without having to walk up the stairs a billion times. I just purchased another set so I can have 4 video feeds in the house #2 bedrooms, playroom, and bathroom – yes, my 4 yr old likes to play in there and stall after bedtime#. I noticed that many reviews of the Slim and Secure #the version that came out before this one) noted issues with the digital signal interfering with their wireless modems and cordless phones. I, thus far, have not had an issue. I’m very happy!! Read more...

This monitor was one of the best gifts I received. I’ve been using it for almost two years and will continue to use it for our toddler. It’s easy to clip onto my pants and work around the house, the video is good, and the light display shows the level of sound in baby’s room (from soft breathing to loud crying) even if the volume is turned down. I can walk out to our mailbox and still get a pretty good signal.
It really saves a lot of time from not having to go to our son’s room and peek or listen in on him. I have gotten much good sleep with this monitor plugged in by my bed at night. If I wake up, I can just look at the lights or turn up the volume to check on my child. It also has two channels for selecting the best reception and, if we have another child, I will buy a second monitor to use a channel for each child’s room. Read more...

I ordered the Home Sentinel 3 camera digital wireless monitor from Amazon/Pegasus. This item was to be used for an 84 year old Alzheimer’s patient. It arrived with only 2 out of 3 cameras. While apparently there was some confusion about how to resolve the issue it was resolved to my satisfaction and I appreciate the efforts of this supplier. As far as the Home Sentinel 3 camera digital wireless monitor it is performing great and we find a sense of comfort in knowing the caregivers can monitor the patient in any of 3 rooms. Read more...

When my first was baby was born, I bought an audio monitor because we have a one storey house and I could easily go and check on him when I heard him. THe problem is that sometimes he is just having a bad dream and by bursting in his room, I make things worse because I wake him up and then he does not want to go back to sleep. I am expecting my second child and some friends of mine recommended this video monitor so I ordered it early and installed it in my toddler’s room. What a relief! Not only is it a pleasure to watch him sleep but also I am able to evaluate when a mommy visit is really necessary. Read more...

I was nervous about getting this because there were only 10 reviews that seemed to be evenly split between working great and having problems. However, since it was a known brand and digital (I really didn’t like the idea of unsecured images of my infant being broadcast) I thought I’d give it a shot. We received our unit a few days ago, set-up was easy, there were no pairing issues, and the audio and video quality is as I expected. I really don’t need and likely will not use the crib soother because I already had a crib soother from my older child that works just fine, but the soother does work on the crib and via the reciever. I was a little worried after seeing the reviews here, but my wife called Summer and they assured us that this was the correct camera for our situation and told us they would take it as a return if it did not work.
It works!
We have a 15 month old son and a daughter on the way in a few weeks. We were about to buy a second video monitor system when my wife learned about just getting a second camera for our current system and using the B channel.
Brilliant. Only one monitor to haul around and far less expense than having to buy another whole system.
We installed the camera in our son’s new “big boy room” and tuned it to channel B and we switch between A for the “infant room” and B for his room and it works great. Read more...
